Packaging production process at Packas

Packas manufactures high-quality packaging supplies for the food industry. Our production process is designed to ensure quality, sustainability and functionality. You can find an overview of the different stages of our production process below.

Our production process step by step

1

Plastic granules

High-quality plastic granules such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and PET form the basis of our packaging. Depending on the application, additives are used for enhanced features, such as extra strength or barrier properties.

2

Blow film extrusion & cast film extrusion

With blow film or cast film extrusion, plastic is melted and shaped into thin films. Multiple layers can be combined via co-extrusion, creating packaging materials with enhanced features such as extra strength and better protection against moisture and oxygen.

3

Package printing

At Packas, we offer two advanced printing techniques for package printing. Find out more about these techniques below.

4

Finishing

After printing, the film is finished as per customer requirements with hot-needle, macro or laser microperforation.

5

Film cutting

The manufactured film is carefully cut to the right width and length for optimal handling by the customer.

High-quality printing for your packaging

Cutting

Packas has long-standing expertise in film cutting. Thanks to our large range of equipment, including state-of-the-art cutting machines, we guarantee a meticulous and efficient finishing.

Printing

Packas knows that packaging needs to be functional as well as a powerful communication tool. That is why we offer various printing techniques that will show your brand to best advantage.

  • Rotogravure printing: copperplate, rotogravure or helio is an intaglio printing technique that is particularly appropriate for large print runs with fine details and a wide colour spectrum.
  • Flexo printing: a flexible printing method ideal for different materials and variable designs, with fast production and high quality.

Our printing processes guarantee sharp prints, vibrant colours and long-lasting packaging. Proof printing makes it possible to physically test the packaging before printing the full run and ensures a flawless final result. Your products will not only be optimally protected, but also visually appealing when displayed on the shop shelves.

Finishing for a perfect end result

Besides film printing and cutting, we also offer various finishing options to give your packaging the required functionality and appearance.

Depending on the application, we can add perforations. This includes laser microperforation, hot needle perforation and macroperforation, ideal for controlled ventilation or easy opening.
